Falling Off

It feels like January and February flew by. We start off January in full force with new resolutions whether its dieting, working out or just making changes in our lives.

Making it through February has been a stretch and now March has begun If you been challenged to change habits or have been unable to keep resolutions, it’s never too late to reset and restart.

I personally fell off in January… I had committed to change my lifestyle and eat healthier while committing to exercising at least 2 to 3 days a week. It has been a struggle, a real struggle. However, when I stuck to exercising two or three days a week after a couple weeks, it became a new habit and felt routine.

Starting this month, March, it will be my second month of continuing this new habit and lifestyle. It wasn’t always easy but with great support and encouragement, persistence, and consistency I made it happen.

I learned I had to prioritize my wellness and to make extra time in the morning in order to live a healthier lifestyle. For me, that includes having a green smoothie or drinking celery juice first thing. Thirty minutes after drinking either, I prepare a simple breakfast. That’s my weekday routine.

On Sundays, all my prepping for the week happens. Planning my meals and prepping eliminates unhealthy snacking or opting to settle for fast food and eating out.

My weekday strategy includes exercising Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. The Weekends are my days off from the gym. I’ve been consistent for the last four weeks. It has taken me a while to get where I am…But I made it! And now I am feeling accomplished!

Here are three tips that got me started:

  • Define my goals (make it specific to you, your lifestyle, and capacity)

  • Had a plan (strategize and implement, don’t just hope and wish)

  • Kept vision in front of me (don’t lose focus or sight of the goal; keep at it)

Now it’s time to restart or reset. If I can do it, you can too!
